Urban Decay Electric Palette
Festival Inspired Look
Urban Decay Anarchy Lipstick
Festival Season is in full swing and I am always in awe of the creative spirits who attend Glastonbury, Isle of Wright  to name just a few. From the fashion to the make up, the looks are bright, colourful and just about experimenting, having fun and being who you want to be. With that in mind, on Sunday, I was inspired to go beyond me usual safe zones and explore my horizons (as the saying goes)

My base was created using the Laura Mercier, foundation primer with SPF* to help the skin stay hydrated. It also is a great product to help make sure my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (in the shade Barcelona) I am going to talk more about this in tomorrow's post but spoiler alert, this foundation is heaven! I really enjoy using it.

To add some warmth back in to my skin I went in with my Laguna Bronzer and then went ahead and applied the Essence Soft Touch blush in the shade Babydoll. It is a really nice subtle blush that does not look over done.

The added extra I went in with to give me a sun kissed glow is The Body Shop Baked to last Bronzer. I just applied this to my cheeks. It does has a bit of shimmer but there is something about this that has me reaching for it. It can be quite heavy so use a a light hand but it leaves your skin looking healthy, glowing and full of life. I then went in with the Benefit Cosmetics Watts up highlighter on the bridge of my nose and my cupids bow.

Now the pieces of resistance has to be the eyes and lips in this look. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have had a sneaky peak of the Urban Decay Electric palette*. I was really excited to give this a go and play around with it. my eyes gravitated towards the purple and pinks shades so I delved in to the shade Urban with is a deep rich grape purple shade and applied it all over the lids. I blended it in with my Crown Brush* so there were no harsh edges. Then to add some dimension to the eyes I took the shade Jilted which is a bit brighter more berry toned pink. Both shadows have shimmer and a slight dual chrome affect to them which help them pop on the lids.

I was in the mood to play with make up so I took the brush that comes with the palette and took the turquoise colour Fringe and dabbed it on my lower lids. I love doing this when I want to go all out. I did not know what to expect but I ended up really loving this eye look. I am going to do a ful review of the palette but as you can expect great quality from Urban Decay. (Sidenote: the packaging for this is spot on).

To finish off the look, I wanted to keep the look fresh and bright so I skipped liner and just went in with a new mascara I am trying out. The new Max Factor masterpiece transform mascara was a sneaky purchase I made recently and so far I am liking it.

Of course I had to go all out with the lips and first lined my lips with my Kiko Smart Lip Liner in the shade Fuchsia which I am wearing in this video. It is a really bubblegum pink that I usually stay away from. To intensify the colour even more, I used the Urban Decay Revolution lipstick* in the shade Anarchy. This is a beautiful pink perfect for spring and summer. The pigmentation of this lipstick is stunning. It is hydrating formula so you do need a lip liner underneath to stop it from getting everywhere but it does stay on the lips and if you are not a matte lipstick girl like me, you will love this.

There you have it, I really enjoyed playing around with lots of colour I do not normally gravitate towards and while this is not a look I would wear everyday it is really fun and sometimes, you just want to have fun with make up.

Lots of love
